I have been knitting, even though I haven't posted in a while. I'm in a stretch of largish projects, so I'm basically just chipping away at things at the moment.
This has been my project on the bus:
For something a bit less intensive I just made this cozy for my french press.
Hopefully this will keep my coffee warmer for a bit longer in the morning.
I've also been working on my Wicked sweater again (finally). I put it down when I was finished up my thesis in May, and then forgot about it until ... yesterday. In a flurry of knitting last night (while watching a movie for my film seminar) I finished the body and started the first sleeve today. It's a bit too big, so I hope washing it will help tighten up the fabric. I should be able to finish the whole thing this week.
yay.

Yeah ... well sort of. I finished writing my thesis, but I just got back a list of revisions from my advisor today. By the end of the day Thursday I'll have my revisions taken care of, and apparently I can defend next week. *fingers crossed* I kind of have to defend next week if I plan on getting it turned in on time to get my degree. And, you know, be able to start my coursework for my PhD.
The last few days have been filled with music theory to degrees beyond most human comprehension. I liked it. Now I'm back to putting off the writing of my thesis by knitting.
Now that I have successfully passed all of my masters comps I can resume craftiness!
So. She really liked the first squid that I made, so I made one just for her. I'm still not very good at the whole embroidery thing, but it's still pretty cute. I followed the gauge correctly this time, and this one is super tiny. It's about two inches tall, max. Seriously.
I'm also happy that I seem to have figured out my light tent settings. Those colors are pretty much spot-on. You have to love good photography. Lighting is soooo important.
Next up are a few raindrops, then to finish the cactus, and then some knitting. I have a stole to work on and I'd like to start a sweater. Maybe I should write my thesis, though ...
