Now quit pickin' your nose and knead that dough!
Um, so I had a big paper due Wednesday. It's still not finished. In fact, I might need to completely re-write everything I wrote up previously. I emailed the professor and he said to take my time; I'll just have an incomplete for a while. I'm okay with that.
But this post is about the sweater I'm working on:
Wicked is a top-down sweater knit in one piece. I am quite excited about the prospect of not seaming. I hate seaming. I just finished the shoulder increases, and am working on the main body of the sweater. Once that's finished I just pick up the shoulder stitches and make the arms and viola! Sweater-time. I'll probably have it completed by the end of next week.
I cast-on for a mug cozy by mk carroll, which I'm making my mom for Mom's day. I also bought seven skeins of Vanna's Choice (yes, Vanna White has her own line of yarn ... and it's acryllic ...) to make a giant Doctor Who scarf.
I can't wait to make it. I think I'm going to figure out how to double knit it, so that it has a more professional look. Or something.
I am a sucker for Threadless sales. Really. There are a few other shirts I really want, and I may just have to place a second order before the sale ends on the 23rd. I just can't help it.
As far as crafty stuff goes ... I did finish my sweater before the Equinox. Woo! It's blocking right now, but should hopefully be dry within the next day or two. I'm not all that happy with the collar or cuffs ... I might take them off and just do a garter stitch thing instead.
I also just started a Tudora from Knitty. It's been a quick knit so far, and I might have it finished tonight or tomorrow, depending upon how much other work I blow off in the process. Which, knowing me, will be a lot.

I've been obsessed with this sweater. So much so that I am already finished with the front panel, back panel, and one sleeve. I'm about a third of the way done with the second sleeve. Then all I need to do is seem it and add the collar. This is a big deal for me, seeing as I usually make little things like toys and hats. I'm not usually a big project person.
I do have a fun trick to share, though. For you Mac users out here that happen to knit, I found a fun way to track your progress of projects. Hopefully all of you are registered on Ravelry, which is a great site to track your stash, WIPs, FOs, favorites, and see what your e-fiber pals are up to. Through the magic of Ravelry, and code monkey Casey, you can grab code for progress bars to put on blogs and whatnot. Vox isn't all that great with embedding stuff, so it doesn't work well here. However, you can make a custom progress bar Widget for your Dashboard. Check this:
1. Open Safari, and browse to your progress bar/API page.
2. Click on the 'Open this page in Dashboard' button:
(It's the one that looks like scissors cutting a dashed-edge box.)
3. Move your cursor over the progress bar, and click 'Add.'
4. Viola! It'll appear on your Dashboard!
As you can see, I did something similar with my KNITWARS account. That way I can see my level and EXP points without logging on to the site. And just to be clear, this only works with Safari 3.0, which comes packaged with the newest Mac OS, Leopard. It really is a neat feature, and a great way to check out your progress bar!
I lead a few lives, one of them being a big fiber freak, one being an obsessive music theorist, and the third being a HUGE nerd. This is why I'll be a perpetual bachelorette. I'm okay with that.

I'm really only posting to share my finished back panel of the Aramis sweater.
I think I tried to post it yesterday but I got distracted by cute kitties and watching Live Free or Die Hard. Which I really liked. Obviously the plot was shaky and not well developed, but do you watch a Die Hard movie for that? No. You watch it to see Bruce Willis kill some baddies and say "yippie kay-yay, mother f***er." Which he did. And in the most perfect place possible. So yes, I recommend it.
Back to knitting. I have about six inches of the front panel completed. And now I'm off to watch Miller's Crossing and knit some more. Movies and knitting go together very well.
